Botanical characteristics
This plant originates from Yugd East Asia and the West Indies. Cultivated in China, Japan, Vietnam, India, West Africa, Brazil, Argentina and Jamaica. The annual production of India is 100 tonnes, representing half the quantity produced worldwide.
Ginger is a perennial herb with large rhizome, which is highly branched. Its stems are as high as 1-1.5 m, and the colors orange and yellow, gathered in clusters klasovidni.
This is a plant of the warm and humid climate, altitude 1500 meters. Unlike other tropical plants that can be grown in a variety of climatic conditions, incl. and in ours.
Soil - most suitable for the cultivation of ginger is subglineista loose, humus-rich soil. It can be grown as irrigated and non-irrigated crop. The plant is interesting from a commercial viewpoint for the southern regions of the country.
Reproduction - is possible only for reproduction by vegetative by rooting parts of the rhizome, which is cut into pieces with a length of 2.5-5 cm (20-25 grams each), with 1-2 well-developed buds each. These root cuttings root in March-April in furrows off 15-20h20-25 cm.

Harvest - done after 6-10 months after planting, when the leaves begin to turn yellow and die. Removed rhizomes are washed from the soil and dried in the sun.
